Fairy tales that come alive

Sizmara tells classic Georgian fairy tales with an expressive narrator. The pictures change with the story and gently move, and the words light up as they are spoken.

The story “The Cat and the Tiger” in the Sizmara player: the tiger and the cat meet, and the captions light up word by word with the narrator’s voice.
The Sizmara home screen: a “good night” greeting, story time and stories picked for your child.
Making a personal story: Sizmara has drawn a portrait of the hero and asks whether you like it.

How it works

Story time in three steps

  1. The story shelf: categories and illustrated stories.

    Choose a story

Classics and folk tales on one shelf, matched to your child’s age and favourite themes.

  2. “The Mountain Spring” in the Sizmara player: a forest spring and captions.

    Press play and listen

The narrator tells the story, the pictures move and the words light up with the voice.

  3. The end of a story: a night-time yard by lantern light and a “The end!” card with three stars.

    Good night

A star waits for your child at the end of every story, and bedtime mode turns the app to calm, dark colours.

Features

Everything for a calm evening

An excerpt from “The Boastful Pot”, in Georgian: the pictures change and the captions light up word by word with the narrator’s voice.

Words that light up with the voice

The narrator tells each story with feeling and gives every character a personality of its own. In the captions, each word lights up just as the narrator says it.

  • Turn captions off with one tap
  • Choose the text size
An excerpt from “The Cat and the Tiger”: the captions are off, and the pictures slowly move and change.

Pictures that move with the story

The illustrations change with the story and move gently, as if the pages of a book had come to life. Even the youngest listeners can follow along.

  • Every story has its own illustrations
The parent zone’s Downloads: space used, the storage limit and downloaded stories.

Works offline

A story downloads the first time it is opened. After that you can listen without internet — on the road, in the village or on a plane.

  • Manage downloads in the parent zone
  • Choose how much storage they may use
The bedtime shelf on the home screen: “The Mountain Spring” and “The Little Beech Bird”.

Bedtime mode

In bedtime mode the app switches to dark, warm colours, so the screen lights up the room less. Turn it on yourself, or choose “Automatic” and the app follows your phone’s setting.

Calm stories are waiting on the bedtime shelf, such as Vazha-Pshavela’s “The Mountain Spring” and “The Little Beech Bird”.

The parent zone check: “What is 9 × 9?” and an answer field.

A calm, safe space

There are no ads in the app. Purchases, sign-in and personal stories live in the parent zone, which opens only after an adult answers a question.

My story

A story where your child is the hero

Choose a name, a look, a picture style and a story idea — Sizmara writes a new story, illustrates it and narrates it.

  1. The “My story” form: skin tone, glasses, picture style and story theme.
    • Nino, 5–6
    • Brown curly hair
    • Glasses
    • Storybook watercolour
    • First day at kindergarten

    You choose

Enter your child’s name, choose an age group and describe their look. If you prefer, choose a photo instead.

  2. Nino’s portrait in the storybook watercolour style: a curly-haired girl with glasses and a yellow jumper.
    Like the hero? Yes

    Portrait first

Sizmara draws a portrait of the hero. If you don’t like it, it offers another version.

  3. Mum brings Nino to kindergarten, and the teacher greets them with a smile. Nino plays ball with a new friend at kindergarten.
    Nino’s first day at kindergarten

    Then the story

Sizmara writes, illustrates and narrates the story. It takes 10–15 minutes, and the finished story appears on the “My stories” shelf.

We don’t keep the photo

A photo is used once, only to describe your child’s look, and the pictures are drawn from that description alone. How we handle the photo

A personal story costs 10.49 ₾ — a one-off purchase, no subscription. If a story can’t be created, its credit is refunded automatically.

This is an example: Nino is a made-up girl, and Sizmara drew the portrait and the pictures.

What ages is Sizmara for?

The stories are for children aged 3 to 8. We show stories that suit your child’s age and favourite themes first.

Is Sizmara free?

You can listen to the first minute of every story without signing in, and signing in with Apple or Google opens three stories in full. To hear every story, turn on Sizmara Plus: 3.49 ₾ a month or 34.49 ₾ a year.

How do I listen offline?

A story downloads the first time it is opened, and after that you can listen without internet. Downloaded stories are marked “Downloaded”.

What happens to my child’s photo?

How much does a personal story cost?

A personal story costs 10.49 ₾. It is a one-off purchase and is not part of Plus: Plus unlocks the story library, while personal stories are bought one at a time.
